“1 4M F1N3 D4V3, C4LM DOWN— WH4T 4BOUT L4LOND3?” She twisted her mouth a bit and raised an eyebrow, even though she knew damn well she wasn’t getting an answer. In times like these, however, there really were only two options. You were either alive, or… well, that was that then.

Biting a little more fervidly at her chalk, she shoved her backpack a little more on her shoulders, holding on to her cane. The knives were sticking out of the side pockets, just in case she needed to slow one down. She’d managed to grab a handgun, too— just one. Just in case. Terezi shooting was honestly more dangerous than the zombies; it was only for point-blank, last-resort options.

As soon as the door swung open, Terezi grinned, gripping both ends of her cane. “L3TS GO, COOLK1D. 1 HOP3 YOU H4V3N’T LOST YOUR ST3P.”

“Hardly,” Dave huffs, though he’s certain the word is lost in the sudden noise of several groaning zombies racing for them.

He doesn’t bother answering her question about Lalonde; she’ll find out for herself soon enough. Hopefully.

All they really have to do is make it to the safety of the car, and it’s not like there are a million zombies or something. Naw, he’s totally got this. Even when one of the fuckers lunges dangerously close to Dave’s arm, he’s quick to slice it into submission, teeth grit as he tries not to think about how human his enemies still appear.

This wasn’t like cutting down imps at all. In fact, it felt a little like murder, but just a little. Shit, he’d get over it in no time.

Okay, maybe he cringed internally just a tiny bit at the sound his sword made as he drove it through the chest of another zombie hellbent on chewing off his face. He wondered if he should check to see how Terezi was holding up, but honestly the news about Lalonde still had him feeling wary of their enemies, and decided the moment’s distraction to check on his friend wasn’t really worth the risk.

If she needed help, she’d holler.

Besides, he was almost there. Almost- Fuck! Where were these assholes coming from.

His arms came down quickly, parting an unlucky monster’s head from its shoulders. At least now he had a clear path to the car, and he raced forward towards the door on the driver’s side, moving faster than he’d needed to in a while.

Another scrambling zombie was sent crashing to the ground from the sheer amount of force with which Dave opened the car door before the blond scrambled inside.

“C’mon, Tz. I know this is fun and all, but we don’t have much time to waste,” he urged, convinced his voice sounded a lot more even than it really did.

The problem, or perhaps current advantage in this case, was that a troll growing up on Alternia was trained to kill from before they could crawl properly. This not only made them ruthless, but rather unfeeling about deaths- especially ones that were mindlessly attacking and trying to kill you.

Meaning, of course, Terezi was hacking heads off with the gleeful cackling of someone having far too much fun for their current situation.

She was slicing heads off as she ran through the crowd, half of her cane in each hand with the point bared. These things were not human, not anymore— which made them nothing more than unfeeling target practice. Despite being a short-range sort of fighter, this sort of situation demanded keeping herself as far away from the target as possible, which meant lots more running than killing. The real disadvantage here was the blockage of her senses; the rotting, decaying smell of the undead became more powerful the closer they came, which was almost the equivalent of fumbling in darkness. While she could go far with hearing— was it far enough?

As soon as she got a whiff of Dave, far to her right, she sprung over the head of one of them and tossed the passenger side open, almost slamming the door shut on her foot.

“W3LL, STOP W41T1NG 4ROUND! H1T TH3 BUTTON TO M4K3 TH1S TH1NG GO!”

Unfortunately for Dave, Terezi had found the craft aisle long ago. She didn’t need food. Only chalk. And Skittles. This was obviously part of a balanced diet and no one should really question her, because stopping her would honestly just be a bad idea. In the meantime, she’d also managed to acquire quite a few new outfits, the majority louder than a gunshot.

Hearing Dave’s voice down one of the halls, she popped her head out from the middle of a display where she had been busy sorting all the red chalk from the rest of the boxes. Grinning, she shrugged a new backpack over her shoulder, and clambered her way out.

“OV3R H3R3, D4V3!” She bounded down towards the end of the hall, moving to the sound of his voice.

Upon seeing his only remaining companion’s face indeed covered in art supplies (really, it looked more like a coke addict had a very unfortunate run in with a red magic marker or something, but he wasn’t judging), Dave couldn’t help the way he became just that much more concerned for their situation. He knew the trolls could handle themselves to at least some degree, but there were zombies outside and Terezi was covered in chalk.

Hopefully he’d be able to relax once he saw how she reacted to the threat outside.

“Hurry it up, Tz. We’ve gotta meet up with Rose, Bro, and La- …” Dave trailed off awkwardly, and if his throat had clenched just a little, well, Terezi didn’t need to know that.

“The others are waiting for us at a nearby mall, and - unsurprisingly - they need our help, so we should probably get the hell over there before anything else happens,” he said, already making his way towards where they’d come into the building earlier.

One of his hands clutched at the backpack he’d transferred all of his findings to, while his other tightened around the sword he’d brought with him. Ideally, he would have grabbed something long range like a gun, but the familiar weight of a sword in his hand was a comfort.

“Let’s do this.”

And without another warning, the teen swung open the doors of the warehouse. The black van really wasn’t all that far, but there were at least a dozen infected former-humans swarming the parking lot, every single one of them turning to see where the smell of food was coming from.

((So idk if this has happened already, but have any of the human!trolls and troll!trolls met?

I was throwing around an idea earlier that the human!trolls would have their own set of people that they knew, same with the troll!trolls, since both versions of the character are able to be apped. Would it be too silly if, when both groups met, everyone was surprised because they were expecting to see the versions of the person that they knew? Like human!Vriska expecting to see human!Terezi and troll!Terezi expecting to see troll!Vriska and it just causing silly things.

Am I too late for this/is this a silly idea/what do you guys think?))

You aren’t exactly sure what that means, but if someone is coming to pick you up, it likely means that you should stay where you are. And how had he known you were using a hammer? That little tidbit was actually slightly alarming. You look around you, trying to figure out if maybe he’s watching you somehow.

Zombies. That…made sense. You roll the word around in your mouth, feeling yourself shudder, but it’s not completely in fear. Your sledgehammer is a comforting weight in your hand, and it’s been a long time since you were able to unleash your strength upon something that could take it.

While you wait for John to respond, you set out deeper into the massive store to hunt down your grey-skinned companion. Who the hell knows what she’s up to right now. She lets go of Bro, grabbing a rifle and some ammo, and a katana to go with it. Then hops out of the car, looks around and nods, signaling that they can go. She quickly ran to the store, she was so close to getting her addiction back together.. Dear lord she’s killing herself, but because of lack of alcohol, she’s been a lot colder too.

Reaching the front of Costco, she broke down the gate, easily. Then she quickly ran towards the alcohol section, opening them and chugging them down. Okay she was good, she grabbed a nearby shopping cart and started shoving things in that was necessary. Wait.. They need more room, there should be some semi trucks about, and there’s a gas station near by, perfect. Lalonde can definitely drive.

With the shopping cart, she disappeared into the back of the store.

The Strider watched Lalonda BOOK IT out of the car the moment it stopped. Eyebrow arched, he flicked on Auto to reply to anyone who was in need before shutting things off. He didn’t need screens popping up in front of his view as he stepped out of the armored car.

“I guess not even zombies can help someone go cold turkey.” His blades in hand, Bro strolled off on after Lalonda, shaking his head and keeping a look out for the infected as he entered the building.

After several look abouts, he turned around to wave at those in the car, “Lalonda successfully scared them all off with her ferocious alcoholic obsessions.”

As soon as Terezi was given the all-clear, she hopped from the front seat, cane in hand. “Well if that is the case, I believe it is time to go exploring!” Grinning wildly towards both Striders, she sauntered right past and through the gate, into the store.

So many things. So many possibilities. So many colors.

First things first was definitely some new clothes. All the new clothes. She also figured she should probably grab something for Feferi, and eventually Nepeta; and yes, okay, maybe something for Vriska too. Her having clothes was better than her bring naked, she supposed.

After that? Time to lick every container until she finds the tastiest ones.

Hopefully no one expected Terezi to shop for the car’s sake.
